USARL calls for applications for men's and women's Head of Football roles
The US Association of Rugby League (USARL) Inc. announced today the opening of applications for two critical leadership positions within its national programs: Head of Football for the Men’s National Program and Head of Football for the Women’s National Program. These are distinct roles, each focusing on one program and providing a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of Rugby League in the United States.
The USARL is seeking visionary leaders who are passionate about Rugby League and can build on the foundation of these programs, elevating both the men's and women's teams to new heights on the international stage.
Position Overview
The Head of Football for each national program will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategy, and success of their respective program. Reporting directly to the USARL Board, these positions require close collaboration with management and key stakeholders to achieve high-performance outcomes, create strategic talent pathways, and leave a lasting legacy for Rugby League in the U.S. and beyond.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Leadership: Provide effective leadership and direction to coaching staff and the national squad, developing and implementing team strategies to achieve performance goals.
- Talent Pathways: Design short, medium, and long-term pathways to develop players from grassroots to elite competition, working with the USARL Board and National Team Managers.
- Staffing & Mentorship: Recruit and develop high-quality candidates, ensuring continuous excellence and strong succession planning for key coaching roles.
- Financial Management: Collaborate with the USARL Board to manage the national team budget while maintaining performance standards and team culture.
- International Success: Work towards improving the national team’s win/loss ratio and aim to qualify for the Rugby League World Cup.
- Ambassadorship: Represent the USARL and Rugby League at the highest level, promoting the sport at both domestic and international events.
Candidate Requirements: Candidates must have proven experience in high-performance rugby league programs, a deep understanding of Rugby League, and the ability to inspire both players and staff to achieve international success. While US residency is not mandatory, it will be a significant factor in the final decision.
